Chemical Watch Makes Switch to Membership Model and Reveals New Service and Brand Identity

B2B publisher Chemical Watch has revealed the launch of its new service , alongside a new brand identity. Coming after a year of development, the service will feature the company's award-winning global news and intelligence, alongside a comprehensive library of resources, diagnostic tools and customer support from a newly formed analyst team, all of which will be accessible via a brand new online platform.

The service will form part of a corporate membership package, marking a change from the company's previous subscription offering. A new brand identity, featuring an "iris" logo and turquoise and charcoal brand colors (abandoning the brand's previous red), will also debut. The brand's new tagline, "Intelligence to transform product safety," reflects its shift from news publisher to insight and intelligence provider.

The company has consolidated its three sub-brands (AsiaHub, BiocidesHub and Chemical Risk Manager) into the single Chemical Watch brand. The feedback they received in this process highlighted some important trends within their community, including the fact that regulatory compliance is becoming more complicated,

"Our mission when we launched Chemical Watch in 2007 was to provide businesses with the information they need to manage the risks of chemicals responsibly," said CEO Mamta Patel. "For a decade we served that purpose with a news service now referenced across the world.

"In 2019 after a deep look at our marketplace we are responding with the launch of a future-fit Chemical Watch that will augment our existing services with exciting new possibilities to interact and service our customers' needs now and in coming years."

Almanac of American Politics Names Charlie Cook as Co-Author

The soon-to-be released 2020 Almanac of American Politics, a division of Columbia Books & Information Services, has named Charlie Cook as co-author alongside chief author Richard Cohen. Cook is editor and publisher of The Cook Political Report and an analyst for National Journal Group and NBC News.

"I am honored to be named the co-author of the 2020 Almanac of American Politics," said Cook. "As a senior in high school, I bought the first edition of the Almanac in 1972, as soon as it came out, and it has been my bible ever since.  I'm not sure how many people have two complete sets, one for my office and one at home, but I can't imagine doing my job without it.

"Before there was an Internet, there was the Almanac of American Politics. It is the go-to place for any serious student of American politics.  I look forward to working alongside Rich Cohen and the CBIS team producing the Almanac and carrying on the tradition started by Michael Barone, Grant Ujifusa and Douglas Matthews 47 years ago."
