Business Management Daily Acquires Negotiation Briefings Newsletter

Continuing their recent growth, Business Management Daily has acquired the Negotiation Briefings newsletter from The Harvard Law School Program on Negotiation (PON). Terms were not disclosed.

"This is a very exciting addition to our product line," said Adam Goldstein, publisher of Business Management Daily. Negotiation Briefings dovetails perfectly with our newsletters Communication Briefings and Executive Leadership (which will now be renamed Leadership Briefings to enhance our cross-product synergy). The Harvard Law School Program on Negotiation has been terrific to work with, and they will continue to provide all Negotiation Briefings content. We'll also continue to work together closely on webinars and live events."

Gail Odeneal of PON is equally pleased. "We have enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship with Business Management Daily on webinars and our events," she said, "and we look forward to expanding our partnership by continuing to provide content for Negotiation Briefings. It has been a great relationship for both of us."

The deal will close on June 30, and fulfillment will begin with the August issue.

Elliott, Petersen Recognized for Outstanding Service

At last week's SIPA Annual 2017 Conference, Denise Elliott, senior VP and chief operating officer for Kiplinger Washington Editors, became the 38th person inducted into the SIPA Hall of Fame.

"I was hired out of college by Margie Weiner [the late industry pioneer]," Elliott told a packed luncheon. "It was quickly instilled in me the importance of SIPA involvement. From there I established close contacts that I knew I could always rely on."

On being just the sixth woman inducted, Elliott said, "If you have a young person, especially a young woman, pull them up, as was done for me. Challenge them to do any job in the company, and most importantly pay them fairly and involve them."

Also recognized was Elizabeth Petersen, chief people and strategy officer of Simplify Compliance, as the 2017 Volunteer of the Year. Congratulations to both Denise and Elizabeth.
