BLR Acquires Navis Learning
BLR, a business unit of Simplify Compliance, has acquired Navis Learning, a provider of award-winning custom learning and development solutions.
"Corporate learning and development continues to take on significantly greater importance," said Rafael Cardoso, president of BLR. "With this, training programs have become more complex. The addition of Navis Learning to BLR's established training solutions allows us to serve the evolving needs of our audience by delivering a truly customized approach."
Navis Learning brings a complete range of custom learning solutions to the acquisition, complementing BLR's existing TrainingToday platform. "Listening to our customers and understanding the increasing importance they are placing on their corporate learning and development programs made this acquisition a natural fit for BLR," said Dan Oswald, CEO of Simplify Compliance.
David Gomes, former CEO of Navis Learning, will be taking a role on the BLR leadership team as vice president, learning and development solutions. "Joining the BLR team enables us to share our experience and expertise, expand our footprint, and offer additional custom learning solutions to our combined clients. I'm excited to continue our growth with the new team that resulted from this acquisition," said Gomes.

SIPA Hall of Famer's Son Runs for Congress
A March 3 New Yorker magazine article began like this:
Last Saturday, Jon Ossoff, a tall, skinny, thirty-year-old candidate for the U.S. Congress with Kennedy-ish features and a deliberate, Obama-like manner of speaking, was scheduled to knock on doors in Roswell, a city in Georgia's Sixth Congressional District. Over the past three decades, the district has been represented by Newt Gingrich, current Georgia Senator Johnny Isakson, and Tom Price, the new Secretary of Health and Human Services. Price's appointment to the Cabinet left the seat empty, and a special election to fill it will be held on April 18th.
Ossoff is the son of 2013 SIPA Hall of Fame inductee Richard Ossoff, president and CEO of longtime SIPA member Strafford, which helps attorneys and business professionals get the information they need to stay on the cutting edge.
Were Jon Ossoff to win, it would be the first time a Georgia congressional seat has flipped parties in a special election since 1872.

"Every phase of the beta process allows us to continually adjust course based on what we hear. We want to be constantly identifying improvements for our users."
Launched: NGL Basket OPIS Mont Belvieu Non-TET
OPIS has launched its NGL Basket OPIS Mont Belvieu Non-TET, a single daily price based on and derived from the daily averages of the components of Y-Grade that allows for pricing of the total slate of NGL products priced by OPIS.
Additionally, the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) is launching a futures contract for the same index, which will allow for hedging NGLs over one contract, reducing expenses and price volatility of individual products, simplifying exposure to the NGL market, and providing ease of entry for market participants.
This new product joins a long list of OPIS-referenced products available on ICE including NGLs and refined products listings.
