Specialized Information Publishers Association (SIPA) Announces New Executive Leadership
WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 24, 2019) – The Specialized Information Publishers Association (SIPA) of SIIA, with over 40 years of history advancing the interests of specialized publishers small and large, announces the appointment of Amanda McMaster as its new Managing Director.
McMaster joins SIPA with extensive experience in association management, events and media. She most recently served as senior director, CES Conferences, at the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) where she led the strategic planning and content curation for CES and CES Asia conference programming. Her other previous stops include the Donor Relations team of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University and the flagship events department at The Atlantic which she helped to launch.
“SIPA provides me with a unique opportunity to wed much of the experience that I've had in the past," McMaster said. "I really feel at home to return to the publishing world. And I'm excited about the SIPA community; I've heard so much about how tightknit and familial they are. I want to make members’ engagement with us more meaningful—and profitable.
The move to SIPA reunites McMaster with SIIA President Jeff Joseph, who she worked with at CTA. "I am so excited to reunite with Amanda and have her join the SIIA family,” he said. “Amanda brings a unique—and highly relevant—mix of experience in media, events, content curation, strategic planning and partnerships along with an infectious positive, can-do attitude. She will be a great partner for SIPA and all of SIIA."
As Managing Director of SIPA, she leads the development of programs and initiatives, enables a community of publishing industry leaders, creates partnerships, and provides professional development opportunities to bring thought leadership and advocacy to the members of SIPA.
“I will be looking for even more ways to engage the members in our great association,” McMaster said, “starting with our Business Information & Media Summit (BIMS), Nov. 11-13 in Hollywood Beach, Fla. One thing is for sure—we are committed to innovating and injecting new energy into SIPA."
