Jeff Joseph
President
Jeff Joseph is president of SIIA – the principal trade association for the software and digital information industries. SIIA’s more than 700 members consist of software companies, data and analytics firms, information service companies, and digital publishers serving nearly every segment of society, including business, education, government, healthcare and consumers.
Prior to joining SIIA, Joseph was founder and CEO of Starlight Public Affairs, a strategic communications firm advising an array of corporate and non-profit clients. Joseph also served as senior vice president of communications and strategic relationships for the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)™, the U.S. trade association representing more than 2,200 consumer technology companies. CTA owns and produces CES® – The Global Stage for Innovation.
Tom Davin
Senior Vice President and Managing Director, FISD
Tom Davin is Managing Director, FISD - the Financial Information Services Association of SIIA. FISD is the global, neutral forum for the financial information industry with a diverse membership that includes major market data vendors, exchanges, technology providers, and the financial institutions that utilize financial data products. Tom works closely with FISD members to identify major issues and seek opportunities to bring the financial information industry together to discuss and resolve those issues. FISD conducts regular membership events in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia and hosts the biennial World Financial Information Conference – the premiere global industry conference for financial information professionals.
Carl Schonander
Senior Vice President,Global Public Policy
Carl Schonander advises member companies and directs public policy initiatives in international policy, technology policy, information privacy, trade, Internet governance, intellectual property and educational technology. He brings 25 years of experience in the State Department. He most recently was Senior Advisor for Europe, OECD and WIPO Intellectual Property Affairs, where, among many achievements, he played a key role in obtaining approvals for the 2013 Marrakesh Treaty. He previously served as Special Assistant to the Under Secretary for Democracy and Global Affairs, where he managed the leadership of the Bureau of Oceans, Environment and Science. He also spent four years as the Trade Policy Advisor in the U.S. Embassy in Madrid, and over a decade as a senior advisor in in various embassies and consulates around the world. Schonander has a Masters of Law degree from George Washington University, a Masters Degree from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs, and a JD from the University of Stockholm. He speaks Swedish, French, Spanish and Portuguese.
Carl Walker
Vice President, Finance & Operations
Mr. Walker joined SIIA in May 2018. Previously. Mr. Walker was the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of VT Group, a group of service companies primarily supporting the U.S. Government from 2016 to 2017. Prior to that, Mr. Walker was the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Reinhold Industries, Inc., a manufacturer of advanced custom composites for the Aerospace Industry from 2007 to 2015. Prior to that, he was Chief Financial Officer of Custom Food Products, Inc., a value added meat processor, from 2001 to 2006. Mr. Walker received his BS degree in Business Administration from California State University, Los Angeles and holds several professional certifications including: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
Amanda McMaster
Managing Director, SIPA
Amanda McMaster takes the reins as our new Managing Director, SIPA. She joins us with extensive experience in association management, events, and media. Amanda most recently served as Senior Director, CES Conferences at the Consumer Technology Association where she led the strategic planning and content curation for CES and CES Asia conference programming. Previously, Amanda served as a consultant to major brands including NPR and The Atlantic to provide full-service event execution services and coordinated engagement and events for the Donor Relations team of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University. Amanda is a recipient of Dealerscope Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 in the Consumer Technology Industry award and holds a BA in English and Art History from The College of William and Mary.
